2016 Favorites

2016 has came and went and all I have to say is good riddance to the old and cheers to the new year! 2017 will be a great year for me, I can feel it. While 2016 wasn’t my favorite year I had a lot of cool things happen to me. Below is a list of a few of my favorite things and experiences.

I went on a cruise for the first time in the summer of 2016. I got to go to the Bahamas and swim with dolphins which has been a lifelong dream of mine. It was magical.

I love crafts, painting, and refurbishing. I am so proud of this table and chairs that I painted black and turquoise. I got the plates at World Market on sale.

I went to Memphis a few months back for a concert but before we went, we explored Beale Street. I got to see the Brass Notes Walk of Fame. I love Elvis so I snapped a pic and embraced the moment.

I found this flower truck here in Nashville on 12 South in the summer and it instantly put me in a good mood. I plan to go here every two weeks in the summer for fresh flowers for the house.

My favorite scents are always fall related. I got these all at Bath and Body Works. My favorite is the Pumpkin Cupcake, it smells just like the name.

These were for a limited time from Morphe by Elena Gant. I got the “Mama Drama,” and “Coca Mocha.” These are my favorite eye shadows and they blend so effortlessly.

2016 is the year I discovered Jeffree Star and fell in love with his velour liquid lipsticks. I have six so far and will definitely be getting the Androgyny eye shadow pallet that is supposed to be dropping in March.

I would have to say this may be one of my favorite outfits of 2016. It was a little out of my comfort zone because I don’t normally wear high-waisted jeans but I put these suckers on and felt like a 70’s dancing queen. Shirt is from American Eagle, jeans are from Hollister, and shoes are from A Vintage Door Boutique and Gifts.

So, I normally don’t like animated kids movies but my boyfriend has a 4 year old daughter (who I’m obsessed with) and she’s broadened my horizons.  We went and saw Trolls and I loved it! Well, we found these Troll sugar cookies and they were the sweetest things I’ve ever seen. We ate every crumb.

2016 was the year my baby was born. Paizel Blue has brightened my darkest days and she’s so sweet (sometimes). She will be 7 months old this month.

One of my favorite quotes I’ve ever seen and I almost thought about taking it but I have morals so I refrained. The accuracy is so relevant. I am Lorelai Gilmore and am proud.

This year may have not been my favorite for various reasons that I’ll spare you but one thing is for certain, this man has been by my side every step of the way. I got to kiss him at 12 o’clock when 2016 faded into 2017 in a dark bar filled with a few friends and mostly strangers with the taste of champagne on our lips.

I hope you all have enjoyed 2017 as much as I have thus far. May this year be your best and may you flourish in all that you do. Live on party people.
