Manic Makeup Monday—Highlight and Contour

This face is called, “Oh, it’s Monday….”.

It’s Monday and that’s a drag. A way to make your Monday a little brighter is none other than HIGHLIGHTING AND CONTOURING. Do those words scared you like they used to scare me? It’s ok, we all must conquer our fears every now and then. Below I will show you the Brooklyn way…that doesn’t mean the right way, it’s just the way I do it. ;p

How to highlight and contour (my way):

Step 1: After applying foundation suck your cheeks in like a little fishy and apply bronzer heavily to the cheekbone line.

*I use Chocolate Soliel Matte Bronzer*

Step 2: Apply bronzer to the top of your forehead and line the sides of your nose.

Step 3: Use concealer or a specific highlighter that works for you and apply above and below your cheekbone line (above and below the bronzer you applied to your cheekbones) and blend.

*I use Hard Candy Glamoflauge Heavy Duty Concealer*

Step 4: Apply concealer below eyelids and blend.

Step 5: Apply concealer to the middle of your forehead and blend.

Step 6: Apply concealer to the middle of your nose, the middle of your upper lip, the middle of your chin, and blend.

Final Step: Apply blush along your cheek line and then apply makeup like you normally do. Voila! You look like a million bucks.

I do it this way. I’m not saying it’s the correct way but I get compliments so I must be doing something right. I have naturally high cheekbones *thanks mom and dad* so it doesn’t take much to make my cheekbones stick out but I think if you follow these steps you will be very satisfied.

This is my “I’m trying to look cute but honestly it took me like 23 times to get the ‘right’ angle…” face.

Here is a better look at a different day where I highlighted and contoured.

I hope this helped some of you out there and let me know if there is anything else you like reading about. I love changing up my blog, I love that sometimes I don’t even know what I’m going to write about but then I start typing away and it naturally comes to me. I hope you find something you’re passionate about. Don’t let it go. No passion and no dream is too small. Have a magical Monday!

Our biggest shortcoming is low expectations.” -Mark Batterson
