Yard-sale Treasures

Yard-sales are a jolly good time. You can find just about anything you want there. It’s like a magical land of useful items that the owners obviously don’t want anymore but like the saying goes, “one mans trash is another mans treasure.”

When I go to yard-sales I immediately run to the clothes because sometimes you can score some super sweet items for a reasonable price. I recommend going to an elderly couples yard-sale because the older folks sure do have style aka: sweaters galore. They have Christmas sweaters, Easter sweaters, Halloween sweaters, sweaters that they wore in the 70’s, heck they probably even have a sweater with some type of animal on it which are best of sweaters.

In the picture above is a grandma sweater (my favorite kind of sweaters) at a yard-sale that some chickas about my age were having so I found lots of goodies but this one was my favorite. It was $5 which was a little pricey but so much cheaper than a retail store would sell it for. I paired this sweater with a loose cream tank top, dark jeans, and light tan oxford shoes.

It’s starting to get colder so hurry on up to a yard-sale soon but don’t forget that Goodwill has some fun stuff as well (there will be a post on Goodwill finds in the near future). Never spend over $10 on a sweater at a yard-sale unless the thing is bedazzled out in Swarovski crystals. Use your grand persuasive skills and talk that price down and walk out of that front yard with your groovy grandma sweater like the proud sweater lover you are.

*Shout-out* just want to give a large praise to all the grandmas out there with your rocking sweaters, stay classy.
